The published method

Bay Area AEO builds a list of the real questions a business's customers ask AI. Its own example is “best family dentist in San Mateo”. It runs that list on every major AI platform each month, and the client sees how often they are mentioned, how they are described, which competitors appear and which sources the AI cites. The principle behind it fits in a line: track what AI actually says about a business, prompt by prompt and platform by platform, and show the real answers before and after.

What the monthly report shows.
Report elementWhat it tells the owner
Mention frequencyHow often the business is named across the prompt list
DescriptionThe words each assistant uses about the business, and whether they are accurate
Competitors namedWhich other businesses appear for the same questions
Cited sourcesWhich listings, directories, articles or reviews the assistant drew on
Before and afterThe real answers at the start and after each round of work

Why the award weighted it

The issuer's criteria give particular weight to whether results are tied to observable AI answers, and Bay Area AEO's method is built on exactly that. A mention in an answer is something an owner can read with their own eyes. So is a description, a named competitor or a cited source. The listing credits the agency for stating how it measures results and for reporting each month on mentions and descriptions as well as sources.

Why cited sources guide the work

Of everything in the report, the cited sources do the most to steer the next step. If an assistant keeps citing a directory where the business's hours are wrong, the fix is a listing correction. If it cites a neighborhood guide that names competitors, the work is to earn a mention there. Bay Area AEO's other services follow from that column: entity and listing cleanup, answer-ready content, and citations and reviews.

Cadence and timelines

Monthly retesting fits the agency's published timelines. Listing fixes can show up within a few weeks, so an early retest can already reflect them. Content, reviews and outside mentions build over two to four months, which spans several reporting cycles and gives the owner a steady record of what changed in the answers.

An example prompt panel

For a San Mateo dental practice, a panel might open with the agency's own example, “best family dentist in San Mateo”, then add questions drawn from the dentists page and the San Mateo page: a dentist who is good with anxious patients and takes Delta Dental, a place for Invisalign nearby, a pediatric dentist in San Mateo. Each question runs on each platform every month. The report then shows, question by question, whether the practice is named and how, beside the competitors that appear and the sources cited.
